The typically-green fields at Bay Oaks were spotted with pastel eggs Saturday morning.
But not for long.
More than 50 kids participated in the Beach Kids Foundation annual Easter egg hunt April 15, the day before Easter. The Fort Myers Beach Fire District helped "hide" eggs around the fields, which were divided by age groups.
Visitors and locals alike gathered to grab eggs, color Easter pictures and win raffle baskets.
For some, it's become a generational tradition.
Hanna Ruland watched her daughter, Leena, collect eggs in her Easter dress and basket.
"I used to do this when I was a kid," Ruland said.
