The Point Ybel Brewing Company and Beach Records music shop are teaming up to host a Cinco de Mayo music festival Friday night, from 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring freshly released brews, cool tunes and great vibes.

Toggling between the two businesses in the Kelly Crossing shopping plaza on San Carlos Boulevard (in the 777 "Vegas Experience" Arcade building), local bands will be performing at both establishments with 15-minute intervals between them, so festival-goers can enjoy all that is offered throughout the plaza that night.

"I'm really excited about this festival. We'll have non-stop music and artists, featuring some of Southwest Florida's best bands," said Beach Records owner Marty Bourgeois. "Vendors and live art will be featured outside, and our restaurant neighbors, Latinos Market, will be serving some great Cinco de Mayo dishes."

Beer will be provided by Point Ybel Brewing Company, who will be releasing some fresh brews that evening, including the official release of the "regular" O-Face Oyster Stout; Jalapeo-face (jalapeo oyster stout); Freshly Shucked (lemon zest and Old Bay oyster stout); and the Double Oyster O-Face (O-Face with an extra dose of oysters).

Also enjoy the brewery's new Escampaba (Imperial stout with Ancho chilies, Saigon cinnamon sticks, cocoa nibs and vanilla beans), and its Dregnaut bottle re-release.

For those who love the slimy little buggers, be sure to partake in the hands-free oyster eating contest.

Swing around to Beach Records to peruse the thousands of well-organized albums that evening, as Marty is planning to offer a big special that night, as well.

About 10 artists and vendors will be stationed outside of the record shop offering all types of baubles, crafts and treasures, including Willow Cara Art, Mystic Day Goddess (Morgane), Breshnyda, Twigs and Art (Kailey), Katie Vance and Odalis, Shelby Elmore and Cari Dee.

The live band schedule that night, toggling between the two shops, is as follows:

Point Ybel's side

8 to 8:20 p.m.: Ayla Lynn

8:25 to 8:45 p.m.: Tom Whiskey

8:50 to 9:10 p.m.: Eva Lynn

9:40 to 10 p.m.: Carling Witt

10:05 to 10:25 p.m.: Bird Men

10:30 to 10:50 p.m.: Isaiah

10:55 to 11:15 p.m.: Not So Silent

11:20 to 11:40 p.m.: Jeramy

11:45 p.m. to 12:10 a.m.: Breshnyda

Beach Records' side

9 to 9:40 p.m.: Cyborg Dangerfield

9:50 to 10:30 p.m.: Brown Dog, Jr.

10:40 to 11:20 p.m.: Thriae

11:30 p.m. to 12:10 a.m.: Floridian Slim

"Be sure to see Thriae and Floridian Slim that night it's their last local performance before heading up to Nashville," Marty said. "Both made up of the same members who switch up their instruments, Thriae is more of a 90s hard rock sound, and Floridian Slim is like 1970s jam."

The two rock shops hope to continue hosting combined music festivals in the future, but in the meantime, be sure to head down there Friday night for some great Cinco de Mayo fun.
