08.30.2017 Island Opportunities

When season is over, it's time for the locals to get out and enjoy the island's food and entertainment scene. It can be hard to get around during season, but once traffic lightens - even with construction - our islanders have lots of delicious or fun choices to make.

From now through September, the Observer will feature a restaurant, bar or business on Fort Myers Beach or San Carlos Island that our readers might like to get out and enjoy.

This week: The Salty Crab Bar & Grill

So you've been soaking in some beach sun and spent the day out on the sand. Now, you're thirsty.

The Salty Crab's drink selection is sure to have something to satisfy your taste buds.

Located at 1154 Estero Boulevard, hungry and thirsty beachgoers can walk right off the beach to sit at one of the picnic tables or get some shade in the open-air patio. Sandy feet aren't a problem here.

The restaurant is know for its rum buckets, and during certain times of the year it helps raise money for local charities through sales of this tasty drink. But the Florida Sunset, a mango-strawberry frozen cocktail, is also a delicious way to cool off from the hot sun.

Besides delicious adult beverages, the Salty Crab serves tasty seafood and American dishes at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most days live entertainment is playing away on the patio.

The Salty Crab is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m.to 11 p.m.and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.to midnight.
