Chamber to host 23rd Annual Taste of the Beach

Time to break out those taste buds.

The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce will hold its 23rd Annual Taste of the Beach, celebrating the many talented chefs and delicious dishes of the island's restaurants.

This year's event will be held Sunday, May 6 from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. -or until food runs out. The event closes off the end of Old San Carlos Boulevard.

Restaurants will be offering samples of signature dishes and be competing for the Taste of the Beach awards, in categories of best appetizer, best beef entree, best seafood entree, best chicken entree, best dessert, best decorated booth and people's choice. Admission is $5 for adults and children older than 12 years of age. Children under 12 are free. Food tickets are $1 each, with the average food serving price at 5 tickets. Live music will be provided during the event.

Participating restaurants are: The Salty Crab Bar and Grill, Nauti Parrot Dock Bar, Yucatan Beach Stand Bar and Grill, Sunset Beach Tropical Grill, MoJoe's Coffee Bar, La Ola Surfside Restaurant, The Beached Whale Seafood House, Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille, Dixie Fish Company, Castaways Bar and Grill, Bayfront Bistro, Fish-Tale Waterfront Dining, Royal Scoop, Pinchers, Bongo's Beach Bar and Grill, Nervous Nellies Waterfront Eatery, and Uncle Dan's Olde Fashioned Kettle Corn.
