Annual Chamber Tapa Hop gets on the road Thursday

The yearly Tapa Hop, sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce is happening again this Thursday from 3:30 to 10 p.m.

You can ride a trolley to seven destinations to try drinks and "tapas" from each location - "small plate" meals showcasing each stop's specific flavor and style. These are expected to be excellent examples of your local restaurants best eats.

"We love getting everybody together for this one. Every year gets better than the last and we've got some tasty selections this time," Jacki Liszak, president of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, said.

The event also will include raffle prizes, grand prizes and a poker run. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.

Participants will begin and end their day and register for the trolley at Fish Tale Waterfront Dining and then proceed to Salty Crab, South Beach Grille, Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille, Junkanoo's, Pete's Time Out, and the Bayfront Bistro and Bar.

"We're super excited to be the registration and launch point for the event and we're hoping everyone has an absolute blast," Mallory Smith, marketing and events coordinator for Fish Tale Waterfront Dining, said.

Registration times are up until the event, with a $5 discount if you register prior.

The Hop starts at 3 p.m.
